AW Coat Edit: Leopard Print

AW Coat Edit: Leopard Print

As I mentioned earlier this week, I was really excited to start into a fresh AW Trend Report series for the season ahead, seen as I enjoyed putting together last years features so much, and you guys seemed to really like them, too! In these features I’ll be taking you through some of my favourite trends and wardrobe essentials for Autumn Winter, and I’ll also be scouring the web to bring my favourite picks to nail the look, whatever your budget!

So, lets kick things off with the coat series! A good coat is one of the most important things you can invest in this coming season, lets just make that clear. It not only protect you form the harsh elements, but it will be the dominant feature in your personal style for the next few months, primarily because its the first thing people will see. So getting it right is essential. But don’t fret ladies, I am going to do the legwork for you!

I’ve grouped the coat series into different trends, starting with the leopard print. A classic style that has been around for decades upon decades, leopard print has been popping up all over the catwalks and highstreet for the coming Autumn Winter, and I am certainly a fan. Believe it or not, leopard print is often regarded as a neutral pattern, and when worn right, it can add that perfect element of punch to your look. Many like to reserve leopard print for just accessories, but I think a good leopard print coat is a must in every fashion-mavens wardrobe. One thing you must also remember is that if you invest wisely in a good style, you can literally pull it out year after year, as they always come back into fashion, guaranteed!

I have two different versions at home in Galway that I need to root out for the colder weather. One is a soft cuddly Lipsy version that was a gift from my boyfriend, and the other is an oversized vintage version I scored on eBay, which I intended on getting altered to fit me properly. I really must get my hands on it and drop it in to get altered finally, it’s such a great piece!

Another style which I really love is this gorgeous version from Warehouse, pictured below. I was involved in a fun project with Warehouse about a month ago, where I got to style up a look from some of their brand new AW samples that hadn’t hit the shelves yet, and I was instantly drawn to this gorgeous leopard coat. It was SO cosy, and the quality felt fantastic! I got to see it again at the official Warehouse press event last week, and I am dying for it to finally land in the stores and online. It’s hasn’t been released just yet, but I’ll be sure to let you guys know when it does.

I had a good look around online, and below are my favourite leopard print coats that are available right now. They range from fuzzy and oversized to sharp and tailored, and I think there’s something in there to suit everyone. Just scroll through the slideshow, which will give you links to each product if you want to see more. I personally love this cosy-lookingย long style from Chicnova, but I also really like this short, smarter version by Michael Kors, which is actually pretty good value considering how great the quality must be. Thats one piece that would stand the test of time in your wardrobe!

So, what do you guys think of the leopard look? Is it something you will be trying this season, or is it too wild a style for you? (pun intended!) I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Happy Shopping,

Ciara x
