Every Autumn I always invest in a good pair of ankle boots. I save my pennies and spend roughly €100 on a good quality pair, and knowing that I will be stomping around in them for the next 4/5 months makes the decision-process all the more important. First and foremost, they have to be comfortable (and I mean spending-all-day-on-your-feet-comfortable ) but they also have to be pretty fly, seen as I don’t want to get sick of looking at them! Oh, and they have to go with just about everything in my wardrobe. So no pressure, right?!
Last year I opted for a gorgeous patent pair from Zara which had some serious Acne vibes going on, and I never looked back. They we’re super comfortable and I wore them SO much! They’re still in quite good nick actually, and I have started wearing them again over the past few days. I’m tempted to bring them into a cobblers to see if I can get them polished up and given a shiny new lease of life!
This season, I wanted something similar, in the low, block heel and pointed toe department, but I wanted something a little bit edgy too. When I spotted these Epidemic boots on ASOS, I literally swooned – they were exactly what I was looking for! They just arrived today, and are just as beautiful in person, here is a snap from my instagram below:
Now seemed like the perfect time to do the first of my A/W Trend Reports, starting with the humble ankle boot. Whatever you’re looking for in your chosen style, my advice is to spend that wee bit extra if you can. You will be getting so much wear out of them soon, so investing wisely it really is the logical thing to do (any excuse to splurge, right?!) I have linked some of my favourite styles in the widget below for you to browse and shop with ease.
My online search turned up some really gorgeous styles. I love this round toe pair from Schuh, they look super comfortable, but I my favourite has to be this gorgeous buckled pair by Toga on Net-a-Porter. A bit more pricy, yes – but just imagine the quality! Drool 🙂
