Career Diaries: My Shemazing Journey

It feels so good to be back to regular blogging again! As I mentioned in my latest Style Diary post, I wanted to do a special Career Diaries feature, to bring you all up to speed on my Shemazing journey. As you may have spotted on my facebook or twitter recently, I have been chosen as the newest face of the Irish online channel Shemazing TV, and I was chosen via presenter-search-style competition that they held on their website, Shemazing.net over the past few months. When I first saw the competition advertised online, I thought would be a fantastic opportunity, so I carefully filled out the application form, and sent it over along with my updated cv and a link to my showreel. Hundreds upon hundreds of hopefuls applied for the position, so I was beyond delighted when I got the email telling me I had been selected as part…

The Career Diaries: My College/Career Path So Far.

A common question I get asked via my blog is how I ended up working in fashion and the media, or how I became a recognised blogger. Im also pretty sure I’m not the only blogger/stylist who’s been asked these types questions, right? I find these questions difficult to answer for a myriad of reasons, the number one being that I don’t want to disappoint people. I always do my best to explain that there is no easy answer. Career paths in the fashion and the media are rarely, if ever, laid out for people to follow. It’s all about making your own way, carving out your own path. But there is one way that I can help answer this tricky question, and that is by sharing MY path with you all, because in the end, that’s all I know. So, I  before I go much further with these Career Diaries,…

WildChild Updates / New Blog Series: The Career Diaries

I can’t believe this is my first post of 2014 you guys, where has January gone?! I really wanted to do a little update post, for you all, as I haven’t been the best at blogging over the past month or so, and for that I’m very sorry! As most of you know, Im usually a very regular blogger, but I have good reason for my absence, I promise! Things have been pretty hectic with work in iClothing recently, I’m busy working on some exciting new projects for 2014 with my team, as well as keeping up my regular shoots and styling work. I also have a few personal projects I’ve been working away on recently that have been taking up a lot of my free time, hence the lack of blog-posts. Now, I know it must be annoying to hear me allude to various projects without sharing any details, but…

2013 ~ Year in Review

Since I started this little blog of mine over three years ago now, I have written a “Year in Review” post every year, where I look back at the past 12 months, and all they have given me. (You can read my past Year in Review posts here and here.) I feel like I say this every year, but this year in particular has been so exciting, and I am so grateful for all the opportunities that have come my way. Here’s a look at some of my highlights from 2013: Moving to Dublin. Back in May, I decided to up-sticks and move to the big smoke, (a.k.a Dublin City!) to further pursue my dreams of working in Fashion and Broadcasting. Moving to a new city is always difficult, and I found that leaving my friends and family to be the particularly painful, but I was determined to make it…

WildChild Updates: Recent Press Features & Projects

This is just a quick post to update you all on some press features and projects I was involved in recently. The first is an article in the Irish Independent which I was featured in last Saturday, about the rise of online shopping in Ireland. I was asked questions about my experiences shopping online, and how I felt about it’s pro’s and con’s overall. As most of you know, Im a huge online shopper, so as you can imagine, I had a lot to talk about! A photographer from the paper also came to my house last week to take pictures of my wardrobe, and some of my favourite pieces I’ve found online.  It was a really fun article to be part of, and I was delighted with the finished piece, a double page spread in the Independent’s weekend magazine. If you missed the feature over the weekend, you can…
