You can never take too much care over the choice of your shoes. Too many women think that they are unimportant, but the real proof of an elegant woman is what is on her feet.”
—Christian Dior

One of the major style rules Ive learned this year is to never underestimate the value of a good flat. I had so many pairs of barely-worn heels in my wardrobe, and my flats consisted of mostly runners, with little to no pairs of pretty, comfortable flats. A major fashion oversight, right? Considering I wear flats so often now, on days when I’m running around with work, I figured I best invest in a few good quality pairs, and here is a look at what I have accumulated in the past month. I took my time deciding on which pairs to invest in, and I am so happy with the results.

Loafers are key for mixing comfort with chicness, and I think every girl should own a pair or two. These monochrome ones I picked up in Forever21 for an absolute steal (under €30 I think) and the monochrome means they will go with pretty much everything, which is great! The burgundy pair were a bit more expensive, I picked those up at Moda in Pelle, a lovely shoe boutique in Clerys department store. These are made with real leather (always a plus) and the patent finish on the sides will stop them from scuffing as easily as a matte finish.

These studded strappy flats caused quite a stir when I posted a snap of them online last week, you guys were dying to know if they were real Valentino’s or not. Maybe someday I’ll be able to splurge on the €800 price-tag, but for now I picked up these fantastic look-a-likes on good ol’ eBay for a very reasonable €60. You can find the exact ones I bought here. These are also extremely good quality, and were so comfortable from the very first wear. I am so happy with them that I may even have to go back for a second colour!

Finally, these Jessica Buurman beauties only arrived yesterday, and I am so in love with them. I had been swooning over the Jimmy Choo blow flats in Brown Thomas recently, but the €400 price was too much to justify right now (maybe in the sales!) so when I spotted these online it felt like fate. (Use the code ‘xoxojess’ for 10% off) The quality is really good, and I am so happy to finally have my “perfect black flat” ticked off in my wardrobe bucket list.

One piece of advice I want to give you guys when choosing your flats is to take a little extra care. Look for good quality leather or leatherette materials, and don’t be afraid of investing that bit extra in them if you can, as they will stand to you, or quite literally, it will keep you standing in them!

Happy Shopping,

Ciara x
