As I mentioned in my March wishlist post, one of my favourite things about the Spring season (apart from the weather getting warmer of course) is the prospect of updating my wardrobe. Picking those few pieces that inject a welcome dose of colour and life into your tired winter separates is key, and its important to choose wisely, and invest a little extra if you can.

When the lovely people at Yumi boutique asked me to choose something from their collection to style up for my blog, I was instantly drawn to this beautiful bright boucle jacket, as it just screams Spring to me!  The quality and fit of the jacket is fantastic, and I can’t wait to pair it with boyfriend jeans for a dressed-down look or with a cute midi skirt for a more girly vibe. If you’re looking for some great quality spring staples to add to your wardrobe, then I definitely suggest checking Yumi out. Some of my other favourites include this gorgeous bird print midi skirt and this embellished collar jumper.

Another Spring style goal of mine is to work some statement necklaces into my casual outfits, as I think they’re the perfect way to add a welcome dose of glam to any daytime look. I’ve been using this image for inspiration, how gorgeous is it?! Earlier in the week the lovely team at Penneys kindly sent me out a copy of their Summer’14 lookbook (which is amazing!) as well as a press voucher to treat myself to some new-season pieces with, so of course I popped in yesterday for a look. As always, Penneys are knocking it out of the park again this season, with gorgeous printed separates and statement accessories galore. When I saw the striking statement necklace above, I was completely sold! I just love the pastel colours, and whats even better is that it was a snip at only €10. If you picked something like this up in any of the other highstreet stores you would easily be paying twice or three times the price, and thats why I love Penneys, they’re always such great value while still being on-trend.

I also picked up a few basic tops, as I always feel like my wardrobe needs more of them. If Alexa Chung has taught us one thing, its that simple breton stripes look effortlessly chic teamed with skinnys, blazers and flats, and also that classic white tees go with just about everything. So when you’re out shopping for some new-season pieces, be sure not to neglect your basics, as they are the foundations upon which all great outfits are built!

Wishing you all a wonderful Sunday, and Happy Shopping!
