I’m so happy to be back with my series of SS19 trend reports, where I break down my favourite fashion trends of the coming season, and how you can easily shop and style this trend into your own wardrobe.

Next up in my SS19 Trend Report series is the chunky trainer, the “Dad” trainer, or the “ugly” trainer trend, as many like to call it! This is a trend that’s become hugely popular over the past few seasons, thanks to the Balenciaga It-shoe which you can spot all over your instagram feed right now. My favourite thing about this trend is that, first and foremost, its such a comfy option, I mean you can’t really get more comfortable than a pair of chunky trainers, can you? They’re perfect for casual days where you’re running around town, travelling, or just want to give a sports luxe vibe to your look. I’ve really been enjoying working this trend into my wardrobe, and it’s quickly become a staple in my day to day looks.

How to style:
With your favourite high waisted mom jeans and a band tee for a dressed down look
Pair with a floaty summer dress for a girly look that’s still comfortable
Wear with an on-trend midi skirt and a chunky cardigan for a cosy look
Switch up a suit by pairing it with chunky trainers for a streetstyle feel

The closest dupe of the Balenciagas I have found are the Ash “Addict” trainers. They’re still pricey at over €200 but the quality looks great and they are a fantastic dupe for the Triple S style.
