#Squad Goals. It’s a term we see plastered all over the internet, but what does it really mean? For me, getting to call these three beautiful, dynamic and utterly fabulous women my friends is the epitome of #SquadGoals realised…
If you follow me on snapchat or instagram (both @ciaraodoherty) then you’ll probably know that on Wednesday I travelled over to London for the day to attend the press event for the much-hyped Balmain X H&M collaboration which launches early next month. To say I was excited was an understatement, and what’s even better is that three of my blogging buddies, Rebecca, Nuala and Tara were coming along with me! I’ve known these girls for years, and we’ve always been very supportive and encouraging of each other’s journeys in the industry. Working as a blogger full time can be overwhelming, and it’s so important to have people in your life that you can go to for a friendly bit of advice when you need it. I recommend having a look at their blogs, (linked above) as they’ve all got impeccable style.
Anyhow, back to the collection! There has been SO much media hype about this collaboration, and a few eyebrows were raised at the high price-tags of some of the pieces. After seeing, touching, and wearing it during my trip, I can confirm that this is a designer collaboration like no other, and the design and quality of the pieces are worth their respective prices. Below I am wearing the beaded blazer jacket, which will retail at €400. A big chunk of change indeeed, but for such a special piece like this, it makes sense. It did not feel like a high-street piece on, I can tell you. All the beaded pieces were SO heavy. If your budget doesn’t stretch that far, then don’t fret, as there are lots of gorgeous pieces at more affordable prices (tailored blazers, accessories, ect) so there really is something for everyone in the collection.
Shooting with Conor Clinch in Somerset House was such a fun experience, and despite the rain that refused to shift, I had a blast. When choosing my look from the collection, I could not ignore these beautiful leather biker trousers. You guys know how much I love a good pair of leather trews for AW, so when I heard the BalmainXH&M collaboration would have their own pair, I died a little. Once the collection officially launches, they will be mine! Everything I’m wearing will be available from November 5th from the flagship store in Dublin, I can’t wait.
