As divided as the public may seem about her, I must confess, I am a fan of the Del Rey. Her music, her style, and her pageant-queen-meets-girl-next-door beauty. The genuine article or not, her music does it for me, it fills that guilty-pleasure pop-music void that I’ve had since Gaga’s last album. Not to mention I think that whole self “gangster-Nancy Sinatra” look she has going on is killer. I feel the sheer amount backlash she’s been getting since “Video Games” is unjustified, some of the reviews are just downright nasty. Whether or not she is an entirely self-made character or not doesn’t affect my enjoyment of her music and her style. It is pop music after all. If she is just playing a character, then so be it, I like the character she plays 🙂
What are your thoughts on Lana?I’d love to know, Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comment box below! It seems everyone has a different opinion,I just thought i’d share mine! 🙂

I’m a huge fan ! There is definitely something quite mysterious about her…but that’s what makes her stand out 🙂
….& of course, I love the fact she brought attention to some wonderful flower crowns (I’m a tad bit obsessed) !

Yeah Erika I saw those flower crowns in your latest shoot, they look amazing! I cant wait to see the rest 🙂 xxx
I like her music and love her style… but I way she comes at times on tv can be slightly irksome (but maybe I’m just jealous of how beautiful she is) x
Love her music and style and I do think that she has created a genuinely fascinating character for herself, and although I have expressed my own skepticism about the Mulberry bag and the Vogue cover, I don’t think that she deserves even a fraction of the abuse that she gets. There was an excellent sketch on Saturday Night Live a few weeks ago where Kristen Wiig, although obviously taking the mickey out of her mannerisms, defends her against all the negative abuse that she has been getting. One of the best skits I’ve seen in ages. Really worth checking out.

P.S. You may want to add the L to pubic in the first line… It made me giggle because I’m secretly a twelve year old boy.
Oh god thanks for pointing that out Jane! Probably one of the worst (or best??) typos one can make! And yes when I read your post about her I really did agree about how strange it is, its so soon for her to have such a huge mark of acclaim as a namesake bag AND a Vogue cover… crazy soon!
Could it possibly be a backlash against the backlash she’s gotten? Vogue saw the controversy and negativity surrounding her and thought it would sell more issues? Same could be said for Mullberry… Or maybe its a strange form of sympathy… Who knows! xx
I love her too! Her voice is amazing and she’s just not like any other singer. She’s special!
FASHION SUICIDES!
I completely agree with you and I absolutely love her, she’s got real talent compared to a lot of female singers now and I really don’t think she deserves the hard time she gets! I couldn’t care less whether she’s manufactured by her record company or not and at least she makes good music and acts like a sane perosn instead of the whole “I’m so kooky and mental” act Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj etc put on. Hope she makes another album, apparently she’s retiring after one album! x
You’ve got such a cool blog! And I just love this post 🙂 She is verry pretty and those nails are amazing!
I just started my own blog. Maybe you can check it out sometimes? http://www.paschionforfashion.blogspot.com

Thank you so much for the kind words Paula, Im so happy you like it, that means so much! I will most definitely check yours out, thanks for stopping by! xoxox
Those nails freak me out! But she does have the most beautiful hair… I like some of her music but I think loads and loads of people talking and talking and TALKING about her has kind of ruined her for me, which is a shame.
I absolutely love her! I think she’s stunning too. Love all the latin influences she draws on.

Yeah she’s the bizz! xoxox
I really like her, there’s something enchanting about her look and her album is really good!
I did think it was surprising how she scored a Vogue cover so quickly, it all seems so whirlwind for her. In the past, singers who appeared on Vogue covers had a kind of rags-to-riches story, or had made fashion mistakes and had taken years to establish their style, like Adele or Cheryl Cole. But Lana just kind of waltzed onto the scene with an already amazing look,so I guess it was inevitable that she be snapped up by Vogue!
If you haven’t already checked out her album Ciara, do, I think it’s great! I especially love the track ‘Summertime Sadness’.
Yeah that does make sense, Aisling, and yeah I have her album, I friggin love it! xoxo
