Reporting for Diet Coke at the International Design Collective Fashion Show!!
One of the main features if the Volvo Ocean Race in Galway Last week was the International Design Collective Fashion Show, organised by Goldenegg Productions. Held in the luxurious Global Arena, the event showcased 10  different collections from designers both homegrown and worldwide. I was there to cover the event for Diet Coke Tv, and I had an absolute blast. 😀 Haven been kindly given two extra VIP tickets, I gave them to two of my sisters who accompanied me on the night. While they got to sip endless glasses of Champagne, nibble on delectible hors-d’uerves and mingle with the west’s fashion elite, I on the other hand had work to do! Not that I really minded,  as I love this kind of work so much 😀 The filming and interviews went really well, and I think I can safely (and very happily say) Im getting better at this. Well, more relaxed at least, but that alone makes a huge difference!! I cant wait to see the finished piece, Im sure it will be great. You can see my last Diet Coke Video here where I covered the Fashion Innovation Awards back in April. I will have to wait a little longer to see the finished video, but I will share it with you all as soon as its done! As with all event like this, I needed to look my best, and I was so lucky to have the wonderful Lyndsay on hand from Absolute Hair Galway to work her magic on my barnet. She went for a non-fussy look, with lots of volume and curls, and I was really happy with the results. I strongly recommend paying them a visit of you’re in Galway, they’re AMAZING!
I also picked up some bits and pieces earlier in the day, some Impress Nails, which are so handy if you are on the go and don’t have the time to sit down and do you nails, these are an absolute GODSEND! Just pop them on and away you go! I chose a lovely deep wine colour, which complemented my dress and makeup nicely! You can get these in Primark/Penneys for only €7, and they come in a wide range of colours and patterns. I also picked up a packed of 5 eyelash sets from Penneys/Primark, as I had heard from friends that they were much the same as the expensive “Girls Aloud” eyelash range, and at only €8, they were great value. They turned out to be very good, and just subtle enough for me. I personally hate the look of massive OTT eyelashes, save it for halloween people! Anyhow I made sure to use my own Duo eyelash glue (available from Brown Thomas) with these as I am wary of cheap eyelash glue. I would really recommend these lashes, for the price and the quality, but I HAVE NOT tried the glue, just for the record!
I also picked up some new lipstick for the event, I have wanted to get a deep berry shade for ages, and the MAC  matte lipstick in “Diva” seemed the perfect colour!
My dress is from the Savida range in Dunnes Stores (believe it or not) and was bought by my older sister, and I borrowed it for this event. I was so happy with it! My shoes are from Zara.
Myself and my sister Claire

All in all, the night was a total success and I had such a great time filming with Colin from Diet Coke. The more I do this kind of presenting work, the more I fall in love with it, its would be such an exciting career to have. I don’t want it to ever end! Im so excited to see the video, and show you guys, but I must be patient for now 🙂 Here are some more photos from the night, taken buy the lovely Darach of DarachPhotography:
