It’s no secret that I’m a lover of watches. I don’t wear much jewellery usually, opting instead to rotate the same few dainty necklaces and stud earrings everyday, and when it comes to wrist-wear, I like to keep it equally simple. My collection currently consists of a few leather-strap watches, so I was delighted to finally introduce a new style into my collection, this Minuit Mesh Gold timepiece from the watch brand Cluse. I especially love the black face and roman numeral detail, I feel like it ads a touch of sophistication to it even though its a piece you could wear each and every day. Cluse not only make great quality watches, but they’re also very affordable too, and most of their watches have interchangable straps, providing multiple looks in one. Speaking of all things time-related, today myself and Yoseph are celebrating out sever year anniversary. Seven years together – can you believe it!? Like every normal couple, we’ve had our ups and downs, but through all this time we’ve grown stronger and closer together, and I’m so thankful for having this person in my life.

That’s the thing about relationships though, isn’t it? I don’t think anyone should define themselves by the relationship they’re in, but the people you surround yourself with have an undeniable impact on your energy and your growth, and this certainly counts for friendships too. Personally, I never wanted to be spoiled in a relationship, I never wanted someone who agreed with everything I said, and always treated me like a princess. I’d rather someone who challenges me, and calls me on my bullshit when I need it. I’ve never felt the time passing, yet now it feels like a lifetime since I first met Yoseph in Galway all those years ago. Maybe us both being such independent people is what got us this far together. Either way, I feel incredibly lucky to know such a beautiful mind, who makes me laugh everyday. I’m so far from perfect, but I know that I’m a better person for having him in my life.

So whether you’re single, dating or married a decade, I think that’s what matters most: surrounding yourself with people that make you want to do better, and that help you grow into a better version of yourself. So here’s to seven more years of that, please.
