Staycation Style with Marshes Shopping Centre

Staycation Style with Marshes Shopping Centre

Today I’m teaming up with for Marshes Shopping Centre as part of the Front Row launch. I’m super excited to be teaming up with Marshes for a series of fashion posts sharing my top style tips for the Spring/Summer season. For today’s post we’re looking at Staycation Style.

Staycations have become so popular here in Ireland this summer, but they can be a tricky one to pack for, especially with our often-changeable weather. So I’ve put together a series of easy staycation outfits using items I picked up in store this week.

Look 1: Denim Skirt & Blazer

Blazer: River Island
Skirt: Primark
Top: H&M
Shoes: Primark

Depending on where you’re heading off to for your staycation this summer, you’ll need a range of outfits to take you from day into evening, and from beach to restaurant! So for this first look I chose a classic denim skirt (one of my favourite summer staples) and a fail-safe tan blazer, which you can use to dress up just about any summer outfit.

Look 2: Printed Midi Dress

A bright floral print is one of the easiest ways to inject a bit of colour into your staycation wardrobe, and this green midi is an absolute bargain in Primark at the minute. Here I have styled it with the classic blazer to dress it up for dinner and drinks in the evening.

Look 3: Daytime Midi Dress

Midi dresses are also a great daytime option for staycation style. The light and floaty fabric is comfortable in the hot weather, but they still look put together and stylish. A cute beach tote is the perfect summer carry-all for your essentials, just don’t forget the suncream!

Look 4: Beach Coverup

No staycation outfit is complete without the perfect beach coverup. I chose this gorgeous linen-style striped shirt from Primark in an oversized fit, to throw on over a swimsuit or bikini, to take you from beach to restaurant. These utility shorts from H&M are also perfect for warmer days, the elasticated waist is both comfortable and super flattering!

Look 5: Printed Blouse

Another fail-safe option for your staycation packing is to make sure you have one or two printed blouses which you can wear with anything. These will work well for day or night and there are so many gorgeous prints to choose from!

Shorts: H&M
Bag: H&M
Shoes: Primark

Look 6: Denim Shorts

This season, denim shorts have gotten a much-needed update, and we’re seeing a lot more a-line, flattering lengths as opposed to super-short styles. This mom-style pair from H&M cut a really nice length and are super comfortable – win!

So there you have it! Six easy outfits for your staycation suitcase, and each item can be mix & matched, giving you endless outfits! I definitely recommend checking out some of the incredible highstreet brands that Marshes Shopping Centre has to offer, there is so much choice under one roof that you’re sure to find the perfect style for you.

My shopping experience felt so safe and comfortable at Marshes. There are so many sanitisation stations and floor markings dotted around the centre that I felt totally at ease browsing my favourite stores in one place.

It was only recently I started hearing the word Staycation. It was first from my little daughter and I didn’t know the meaning, so, I googled it. Afterwards, I started hearing it in the media. Yes, your blog is very interesting though not many people will realise it unless they encounter visiting another town in pandemic time. This is what got me and my family confused momentarily as we were preparing to go on a staycation to Kilkenny. We thought about “what are we going to be doing in our staycation?” We knew many shops and fun places are still on lockdown; not even sure if the swimming pool in the hotel would be open. All these thoughts were connected to what are we going to be wearing which was connected to places we would be opportuned to visit and all that. At long last we decided to pack light clothes – shorts and T-shirts and trainers (similar to your selections) because we concluded that most of our time would be spent relaxing in our hotel lobby/rooms/dining hall or taking a walk in our company rather than be mixing up with strangers in pups, music clubs, fun places, etc. These places were still on lockdown.
