Take one day dress, a pair of over-the-knee boots, and throw a faux-fur gilet on top, and you’ve got one of my staple winter looks. So simple, and very effective.

Yes I know it’s technically still Autumn, but it sure does feel like Winter out there right now! There’s definitely something that bit more decadent about Winter dressing than the rest of the year, isn’t there? As usual, I intend on fully embracing it again this year, and over the next few months, I’ll be featuring some looks in collaboration with Littlewoods Ireland to showcase some of my favourite AW outfits, and I’m so excited to bring you this first one. It’s a staple look that I always come back to every Autumn/Winter, a fail-safe combination, if you will.
To start with, I always want to be comfortable, and the recent weather change has left me shivering in my light jackets and insufficient layers. Is it just me, or does it nearly always take a getting a cold to make me realise I need to dress warmer? Going back to my winter staples, I choose a darker floral print in this comfortable day-dress (love those sleeves!) and added a cosy faux fur gilet to keep me feeling warm and looking on-trend. I wore this outfit into town yesterday with Yoseph to grab breakfast, and despite the chill that’s been creeping in here in Ireland, I was so cosy. I really can’t recommend this combination enough during our Irish winters. Not only are gilets so on trend with their 70’s bohemian vibes, but they also leave your ams free to show your outfit, all the while keeping you unbelievably toasty. If you take one thing away from this post, be it that a good gilet is an essential in a your winter wardrobe. Invest!
Grey over-the-knee boots seem to be one of the it-items this season, with the inspiration coming from Stuart Weitzman’s pricey €900+ pair. If you’re looking for something a little more budget-friendly, this pair from LWI’s own brand shoebox are coming in at a much more affordable €52. I would suggest going true-to-size if you are ordering these boots, as I sized up in the foot, and they ended up a little big on my legs.
I hope you enjoyed this cosy winter look, and stay tuned for my next collaboration with Littlewoods Ireland, coming next month, I’m so excited to share some more of my essential AW looks with you all!
