Hello from my beautiful Parisian balcony!
Well actually, I’m at home in Dublin sitting at my laptop with the rain lashes down outside, but my mind is still in this incredible city. As I mentioned in my recent Travel Post, one of the reasons why myself and Yoseph flew over to Paris last weekend was to shoot a fun collaboration with Thomas Sabo, and I’m excited to finally share it with you here on the blog.
For weekend-trips like these I often just use my small cabin suitcase for all my luggage, to avoid the hassle of checking in an extra bag. This is a great for convenience, but it also means you have to be very clever with your packing. I solved this problem by choosing a select few pieces from the Thomas Sabo website that could take my looks from day to night with ease. A brand I’ve known and loved for years, Thomas Sabo has always been my go-to for relaxed elegance and affordable luxury in my jewellery. I especially love their rose gold pieces, and their beautiful, delicate chains.
Daytime: Engraving at Thomas Sabo Store in Le Marais, Coffees & Croissants, strolling around the Palais Royal.
During our trip myself and Yoseph popped into the gorgeous Thomas Sabo store in Le Marais to get a special Love Bridge bracelet engraved to commemorate our trip together. You guys know I love anything personalised, I already own two engraved Love Bridge bracelets which I wear all the time. I learned recently that the inspiration for the LoveBridge collection actually comes from Paris (it being hailed as the ‘city of love’ after all) and more specifically, Les Pont des Arts which is the famous love lock bridge. Myself and Yoseph have been together for a six years now (where did the time go?!) and I had intended on dragging coaxing him down to the famous Parisian love bridge to attach our own lock as is the tradition, but despite my researching it beforehand I somehow failed to realise that the locks have now all been removed, in an attempt to preserve the bridge itself! Well, despite my minor disappointment, getting our own LoveBridge bracelet engraved with a special quote seemed to be the perfect alternative, don’t you think?! I love how this engraving service is complimentary, so personalising your purchase won’t cost anything extra. The staff in the Le Marais store were incredibly friendly, and we sipped champagne and nibbled on chocolates while our engravings were done. You can see some video footage of the engraving process in my travel vlog here, it actually looks so cool!
Afterwards, we strolled around the beautiful grounds of the Palais Royal Gardens (which has beautiful views of the Eiffel Tower,) sipped coffee in one of the nearby cafes, and simply watched the world go by. It was a pretty perfect day in Paris, if you ask me. Here’s a look at what I wore:
I’m wearing:
GLAM CHRONO WOMENS WATCH / GLAM & SOUL NECKLACE / LOVE BRIDGE BRACELET / ETERNITY RING / GLAM & SOUL RING / RING / RING / RING
Night: Dinner at Les Pinces in Le Marais, Walks along the Seine, Drinks at Hotel de France Invalides
At the risk of sounding super cheesy, there’s a certain magic to night-time in Paris that’s hard to describe. Maybe it was all the good food (and good wine!) but I loved every minute. On this particular evening, we went to a cute little Lobster spot for dinner called Les Pinces (and I had a hilarious time trying to open the claws) and it was delicious. After eating our fill we walked back to our hotel, taking in the beautiful views of the city at night along the Siene, and then finally to drinks in the hotel bar where we took the opportunity to snap some photos of my outfit. Never underestimate a night-cap in your hotel bar, as they journey back to your bed is always a short one, haha! Here’s a look at what I wore:
There’s something about this city that makes you want to wear all black, which is actually a pretty great base to let your jewellery do the talking. I chose a beautiful statemtent pendant, and a pair of jacket earrings which I still can’t quite stop marveling at, and together they create a the perfect icing on a chic and simple night-time look.
What I’m wearing:
GLAM & SOUL PENDANT / GLAM & SOUL EAR STUDS / RINGS (as before)
