Not only is it a Friday today, (woop!) but it’s also the first of a brand new month… Hello there April! Rather than trying to trick you by making up some elaborate April-Fools news today, I’ll make this post an honest one.
March was funny one. It was just one of those months where everything that could go wrong, did go wrong for me. You may have seen some of it over on my snapchat (CiaraODoherty) but in the very first week both my laptop and phone broke in the space of a day, which seemed to set the tone for the month ahead, and there were things going wrong here and there that just kept knocking me. Despite being a really positive person, (you guys know I’m all about those good vibes!) there were definitely a few hiccups this month that left me unusually stressed and anxious. I don’t really believe in luck per-say, and the old saying ‘the harder you work, the luckier you get’ is one I live by, but despite trying our best, sometimes we can just have one of those “unlucky” months, right?
I’m not sharing this to make you feel sorry for me, but it’s more a reminder to you (and to myself!) that it’s ok to have a little rough patch. I know I know, there are far worse things happening in the world, and we all should be incredibly grateful for our lot in life (and I am!) but it’s still ok to admit if you’re not feeling 100% sometimes. I feel like as bloggers and social media users, we only share the best, most polished moments of our lives and sometimes it’s just comforting to hear that everyone struggles at times. We all cry, we all worry about relationships/work/money, and we all have our own personal ‘FML’ moments sometimes too! In the digital world where everything seems so perfect, we shouldn’t be so hard on ourselves when our real lives aren’t so. The important thing is that after a bump in the road, whether big or small, you pick yourself up and move forward with the best attitude you can. Which is why I’m happy to start a new month with my usual positive outlook. I truly believe that in life, positivity is everything!
In other news, I had a meeting with TV3 this morning (I’m currently Ireland AM’s resident fashion reporter and stylist) about some fun broadcasting projects that we’ll be working on over the next few months, and I’m so excited to share them with you all! Already April is looking wonderful and for that I’m so grateful. I’m also delighted to be sticking to my schedule of bringing you three new posts per week. You guys seemed to really love my designer crossbody bags piece as well as my first ever DIY video on my YouTube channel, and it’s so great to see that you’re enjoying the new types of content on my blog this year, and I can’t wait to bring you more.
Hoping you all have a great weekend, and here’s to a new month!
Love,
Ciara x
