“Good tailoring can take you anywhere”

I have admitted my love for a good leopard coat on this blog a few times now already (see here) and when I found this gorgeous vintage furrier-made style (it’s still faux-fur!) on eBay recently I thought all my leopard prayers were answered. Unfortunately, when it arrived the size was all wrong on me, and I was very disappointed. It hid in the back of my wardrobe for the longest time, until during my latest (and ongoing) wardrobe clearout, I thought that I’d better do something with it, or get rid of it altogether! Which is where the ZipYard came in.

I got in touch with Alba who agreed to have me come in with two coats that needed re-sizing, and I can honestly say I was SO happy with the results. With a meticulous process that takes at least one fitting in-between, my two coats were tailored to my exact measurements and sizing requirements. This coat was originally at least three sizes too big for me, and so I asked for the majority of the bulk to be removed, but for it to be left a slightly relaxed fit (so it didn’t look too tight) and I really think they hit the nail on the head.  Not only does it fit perfectly, but it’s also extremely warm, just in time for the cold snap we’re getting right now.

Overall, I am extremely happy with the service and care taken with my garment, and I would recommend the Zipyard to anyone looking to get the perfect fit from some of their pieces. As I mentioned before, I also dropped in another coat, which I not only got altered, but also slightly re-styled, and I can’t wait to show you the results in another Style Diary, which is coming soon.

Also, how cute is my new Lariat necklace? I had initially intended on wearing it with a low-cut top for a slightly sultry vibe (oh, la-la!) but I was delighted to realise that it also made for a sort of glam bolo to wear over my shirts! Don’t you just love when you discover more ways to wear an item?!

Happy Shopping,
