At 9am you’re freezing, and come 2pm you’re dying of heatstroke… welcome to August!
End of Summer dressing is always a tricky one. It’s the back to school season and we all want to look smart and put together, so the skimpy summer dresses of June and July just aren’t going to cut it anymore. Here in Ireland and in the UK we’re experiencing a sort of on-off heatwave, with muggy, humid days, chilly mornings and evenings, oh and bursts of torrential rain. STUNNING. So what does a gal wear in this changeable weather? Without a doubt, my favourite thing to grab is always a classic blazer. It’s lightweight, airy and super comfortable, but still looks put together enough to wear into the office or for a lunchtime meeting. For the bottom half, pair with a slinky midi skirt for a more covered look, or flash your pins in a pair of tailored shorts. I’m for one am determined to rinse this bare-leg weather for as long as I possibly can, so you’ll probably see me in shorts and skirts until November…

I’ve put together an edit of my favourite lighter blazers on the highstreet at the moment. I love the cream or striped styles at this time of the year as they still feels summery, but work with any darker autumn tones too.
If you’re looking to invest a bit more, Shopbop are great for great quality blazers from a mix of contemporary designers, here are some of my favourites:
1: J.O.A. Chriselle Blazer (under €100)
