Embracing #YOURMOVE with Swatch

Embracing #YOURMOVE with Swatch

This past summer has been the busiest one of my life…

Working as a blogger, stylist and Tv broadcaster, while also managing my online store, Taylor & Rose, means that I’m constantly on the move. Meetings, blog shoots, filming days, post office runs, stock pulls, it’s all part of my daily routine, and that’s why my fashion choices need to mirror that.

For this style diary I’m collaborating with Swatch to put together an autumnal look that expresses my personal style and movement, which was such a fun challenge! It’s important for me to always look stylish and put-together, but comfort is always key. You’ll never find me trotting around the city in a pair of uncomfortable heels or running from meeting to meeting in a too-tight dress. I need the freedom and comfort to move with ease, or I would get nothing done! Thankfully you don’t have to sacrifice style for comfort, and in this outfit I’ve got a combination of both.

Footwear is always the starting point for an outfit for me, and I tend to choose boots with a comfortable heel, like this Stuart Weitzman pair I picked up on Shopbop last year. They were a great investment as they’re so comfortable and work well with just about any autumnal outfit. I also love wearing layers in my outfits, as they’re perfect for the changeable weather we tend to have here in Ireland. One minute the sun is shining and the next it could be pouring rain, so preparation is always key, and you’ll often find both an umbrella AND sunglasses in my handbag, haha! I love the movement of this light floral kimono under the tough look of the suede biker jacket, it’s the perfect mix.

For me, an outfit is never complete without a watch, so I was so delighted with this new model from the SKIN collection from Swatch, they’re so light and thin that it barely feels like you’re wearing anything, yet it ads a little styling edge to your look, and is an easy accessory that you can easily take from day to night. There are 11 gorgeous styles and colours to choose from the SKIN collection, but the nude “SKINSKIN” style jumped out at me as with its clean, minimalist design and nude colour. I think it works perfectly with this autumnal outfit, and no doubt I’ll be getting lots more wear out of it over the coming months.
