Given that it’s the last few weeks of Summer, here are my 5 fashion must-do’s before the season is out:

1: Rock a Basket Bag

Basket bags are undoubtedly THE accessory trend of the summer, with street style stars and fashion bloggers alike seen swinging them all over our Instagram feeds. I have amassed quite the collection of basket bags these past few months, but one of my current favourites has to be this classic wicker one I picked up in TKMaxx recently for a snip. At 60% less than the RRP, TK Maxx is brilliant for grabbing the latest fashion trends on budget, so partnering with them for today’s fashion post was a no-brainer.

2: Accessorise with a neckscarf

One of my all-time favourite styling tricks is to adding a printed scarf to your look. So simple, but SO effective! Perfect for the summertime, your scarf can be worn in your hair, tied around your neck, or loosely knotted around the handle of your handbag – my personal favourite! It gives an added styling touch to any look, and adds the perfect pop of print to any neutral toned basket bag. I also picked up this printed satin scarf in TKMaxx, they had rows upon rows of the most beautiful prints and designs, the hardest part was choosing which one I liked best! TK kMaxx gets regular deliveries throughout the week, so there’s always something new and amazing to find.

3: Play with Print

Another huge summer trend – print! This will always be a style staple, and the warmer months are the perfect time to play with patterns. For this look I’ve gone for a printed maxi dress, but if you’re a bit shy about rocking an all-over print, then start with a printed top or skirt and keep the rest of your look neutral to tone it down. This dress was a real treasure of a find at just over €30, it’s the perfect summer fashion buy, and could easily be worn from day to night with a switch up of the shoes and bag. When shopping in TKMaxx I like to think of it as a bit of a treasure hunt, I never know what I might end up finding, whether it’s fashion, beauty or even homeware… the possibilities are always endless.

4: Embrace Red

Bright and bold reds are set to be one of Autumn/Winters biggest hues – but they’ve also been a key fashion player all season long. There’s something about a bright, punchy red shade that just screams “Summertime!” so make sure to rock this colour at least once before the summer slips away from us. Choose transitional pieces like shirts and blazers, and then you can wear your scarlet fashion finds right into the coming season, too.

5: Show some skin

My final fashion “must-do” of the summertime is to show a little skin! No, I don’t mean stripping down to your skivvies at your next summer occasion, but showing a little arm or leg never killed anyone, so best embrace it now, while it’s not freezing out. Us Irish  women are often more comfortable covering up completely at dressy occasions, but when the summer is high, it’s nice to forget any silly hangups we may have and just enjoy baring a little skin. Just don’t forget the factor 50 guys, because there is nothing fashionable about a sunburn!
